Treasure Trove is the debut exhibition by The Welcome Swallows, a group of talented artists who participate in the Hands On Pottery All Abilities classes at Box Hill Community Arts Centre. This exhibition showcases a vibrant collection of works created over the past three years under the guidance of renowned ceramic artist and tutor, Madeleine Thornton-Smith.
Our All Abilities classes are designed to be inclusive, welcoming students of all skill levels in a supportive and creative environment. We are committed to providing a safe and comfortable space where individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities can explore their artistic potential and express themselves through clay.
The group's name is inspired by the way swallows construct their nests using mud, symbolizing resilience, creativity, and community.
