Discover silk painting inspired by textures in nature in this hands-on workshop. Learn techniques using heat set dyes through scrunching with salt, cracking with sugar syrup, gutta and cold wax on freezer paper, botanical plant stamping, wet-on wet, wet-on dry, water droplets, and shibori techniques including pole wrapping and elastic bands.
After sampling, you will create a final silk scarf using your favourite technique, drawing from the textures, colours and prints you have created inspired by the botanical world. Handouts will be provided, including materials and instructions.
