In this introduction to Kintsugi you will learn about the history of this art form and about the traditional and modern Kintsugi methods.
We will use modern materials such as epoxy glue and putty and a variation of traditional Urushi lacquer, to make it easy for anyone to learn how to repair and transform your broken ceramics into beautifully imperfect pieces of art.
What to bring:
- An apron.
- Two to three ceramic pieces that are broken (if not already broken, you can break them in class). These will be used to learn techniques so please don’t bring valuable pieces. Please note pieces won’t be food safe.
