Did you know that many cultures believe in a special symbol called the Tree of Life? Sometimes called Sacred Tree or Tree of Knowledge, in ancient Persia pomegranate was the symbol of this tree. You can still find beautiful designs of it woven into Persian rugs and decorative tile paintings.
In celebration of Iranian/Australian artist Niloufar Lovegrove’s new exhibition, "Cypress Growing Season", visit Artspace to add to your own coloured paper tiles to the beautiful Tree of Life in the gallery! You can also make a paper Cypress Tree, and colour in some traditional Persian blooms.
