Join us at Whitehorse Artspace for a captivating Japanese Tea Ceremony and demonstration, celebrating the elegance and rich heritage of Japanese tea culture.
The late Keith Lesselyoung was an avid tea drinker and collector of Japanese ceramics. This special event honours the rich collection of Japanese tea bowls (chawan) and ceramics bequeathed to the City of Whitehorse, on show in ‘A Passionate Collector: The GK Lesselyoung Collection’ (10 May – June 28, 2025).
Rooted in centuries-old customs, the tea ceremony embodies grace, mindfulness, and harmony. Once reserved for nobility, guests will experience the ritualistic preparation and presentation of matcha tea, and will be offered tea and dry sweets.
