The Box Set - A community collaborative exhibition
2017
Box Hill Community Arts Centre, Wyreena Community Arts Centre and Manningham Arts Studio have engaged children from across their municipalities to create life size self portraits. The portraits have been segmented into three sections (head, body, legs) and installed onto packing boxes (thanks Storage King, Box Hill!).
Students from Our Lady Of Perpetual Succour Primary School and BHCAC’s July School Holiday Program created fantastic portraits to be displayed during BHCAC’s exhibition.
Visitors to the exhibition are encouraged to move and interchange the boxes, mixing and matching to create new identities and explore the theme of diversity.
The exhibitions will be displayed concurrently at each centre from September – December 2017.
