2015

The Anzac Centenary Poppies Project was proudly organized by Box Hill Community Arts Centre. This exciting community arts project was part of the Anzac Centenary.

The aim of the project was for school students and community members across Whitehorse to create over 600 individual ceramic poppies. BHCAC tutors ran workshops with students from five local primary schools as well as the general public to create the poppies.

The ceramic poppies graced the lawn of the Box Hill Town Hall for Remembrance Day, each carrying the name of a WWI service person from the Shire of Nunawading, now the City of Whitehorse.

Council acknowledges the funding support of the Australian Government Anzac Centenary Local Grant Program for this community art project. The poppies were displayed at the Box Hill Town Hall from 6 – 20 November 2015.
