About the committee

Do you have ideas about how arts and culture can thrive in Whitehorse?

The Arts and Culture Advisory Committee (ACAC) is an opportunity to have your voice heard and contribute to Council decisions that shape the city’s creative life. Members work with Creative Whitehorse to share insights on local needs, opportunities and priorities across the arts and cultural sector.

The committee is advisory in nature and does not have decision‑making authority. Its strength lies in the diversity of perspectives around the table and the quality of discussion and advice shared.

What you'll be doing

As a committee member, you will:

  • Provide honest, considered and constructive advice to Council on arts and culture
  • Share insights on community needs, sector trends and creative opportunities
  • Contribute to discussions on strategies, policies, initiatives and projects
  • Help identify ways to improve access, participation and engagement in arts and culture
  • Provide advice on proposed acquisitions for the Whitehorse Art Collection
  • Support collaboration between Council, artists, community organisations and the creative sector

This is a chance to contribute strategically and help ensure diverse voices are reflected in Council thinking.
